Prostate Cancer

I have had a burning sensation in my buttocks now for over 2 yrs also

I have had a sore back for ever most of my life.

Well it is going on 2 years since my RP every thing is going well on 6 monthly PSA testing it has remained steady at 0.03 to 0.04 my last was in December since surgery.

I went to see a neurologist regarding my burning buttocks and back she ordered a MRI had it 2 weeks ago but today I received a letter from hospital asking me to have another MRI with dye.

I am so worried that it may have something to do with my PC or am I being paranoid the only comfort I give myself if it was regarding PC wouldn't my PSA be higher .Why another MRI very worried.

Hi again!

Backache with a history of prostate cancer would need an evaluation to rule out secondaries (with or without elevated PSA). A clear CT was not mentioned in the first post and hence further evaluation was suggested. Now since both have been clear a prostate cause is unlikely. Its always better to be on the safer side of things with possible symptoms.

Take care!

No it did not help all it done was make it worse my local GP had already ordered a full body CT scan came back all clear .He said seeing my PSA is undetectable it is 99.99% nothing to do with my prostate cancer so please do not reply with posts like you did all it did was make me worry.

Hi there!

It would be difficult to comment on this one. It could or could not have something to do with the Prostate cancer. There could be other lesions that your doctor might want to have a clearer image about. It would be best to discuss this with your radiologist.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
