Random neck pain

I've had a neck pain which has been happening for a while now. Can't say exactly how long because it's not frequent and very quick [but roughly about 6 months maybe?]. It's a sharp pain on the right side of my neck about 1-2 inches under my jaw bone. The pain is like somebody's pulling/pinching my neck from the inside and it causes my head to sort of spasm to the right but once it's gone my neck is fine and it'll be fine until it does it again which isnt often. The last time it happened was about a week ago. It really hurts when it happens but I've never had neck pain before or any other serious illness?

It's not constant though and it's never stiff it's just that pain that lasts like a second and happens randomly so i dont know!
