Severe pain on my left upper back and neck. Like nerve pinching.

I have had tingling sensation off and on, on a certain spot on my upper left shoulder forabout several years. then from th beginning of this year the tingling sensation in that particular spot increased and became very frequent like several times a day.
Now, for the past 4 months I have been experiencing excruciating pain on my left shoulder. It starts when I am typinbg worksheets on my laptop for about a little more than half an hour. it starts like a sharp dagger stabbing pain on that sot then it burns terribly then the area and my neck start to freeze like getting locked in place. But sinbce yesterday the pain is like something pinching my neck and under my throat and front ofmy neck at the same time and it feels like someone is pulling my nerves  alltogether at the same time. It is so severe that it travelsto my left arm till my palm. This time the pain has not gone away even after taking declofenac 50mg or 2 mefenamic acid capsules. It is there all the time even when resing. Please help. I am desperate.

I use to have this problem when I was pregnant. I mean you are describing it EXACTLY. There was nothing they could do for me when I was pregnant but I heard that what helps is a tennis ball....Here's a link to explain how to use it...

When you use the tennis ball....cross your arms over your chest so you can get that spot under your shoulder blade...at least that's where about my pain was...BEST OF LUCK!!!

People usually think of nerve damage as lack of function. The flip side of that is too much function. Muscles can contract around a nerve bundle and irritate the corn out of it. The pain is your body's way of telling to you pay attention.

The most effective thing you can do I think is to stretch every morning. Request a referral to a physical therapist who can show you the best way to do that. Everyone requires different exercises.

Several years is too long to put up with this. Pain is so distracting and draining. Every step you take to finding a solution is a positive one and puts you on the track to health.

Cheering for you. :)
