CT Scan from Friday shows 2 acute fractures at T1/T2 transverse process, help?

I had posterior surgery C2 - T2 fusion with instrucmentation. It was my 4 neck surgery (2 anterior and 1 posterior) over a 40 yr period, I am 66. So my n/surgeon wanted to correct my deformed cervical spine. He used a lot of instrucmentation and screws, etc. CT Scan on 10-24-2014 was good. On 12-5-2014 CT Scan shows 2 acute fractures at T1 and T2 with a persistent fracture at C7. I am really upset - this is the worse thing that could have happened to me. I see the n/surgeon Monday first thing.
Has anybody had post op fractures after hardware and what was done to repair or fix??? Any info would help. I assume  acute fracture is bad. Thanks for any help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Acute in this case probably means new, with inflammation, not "bad" although no complication of surgery is considered a cause for celebration. (Generally medicine doesn't qualify problems as good or bad, but uses terms like mild, moderate, and severe.)

Yes, many people experience fractures post spine surgery, especially the elderly as bone density decreases with age.

It is difficult to speculate on prognosis. Your doctor will be able to tell you what's next.

Your concern is understandable, certainly, but please try not to worry about things you cannot control. If you are in pain, call your PCP.

Remember to breath deeply and regularly when feeling anxiety.

Be consoled with the idea that with all the titanium stabilization along your spine, perhaps nothing needs to be done about this new issue, other than "keeping an eye on it."

Best wishes.
