Thoracic Spine

For almost 8 months now, I keep getting these nasty painful attacks in my thoracic region of my back, they pain radiates to underneath the rib cage, it wakes me from a good sleep and takes ages for pain to go away, even after taking t3's and muscle relaxers.  I have been to emerg with this pain 5 times now. and they all seem to think it is in my head. It has been ruled out as being Kidney stones.
I have been seeing a chiropractor for the 8 months now and that is not helping me at all. I am scheduled for an MRI soon, as nothing shows up on Xrays.
I am so sick of this pain, it is the worst pain I have ever experienced. what can this be? I am tired of being called a mystery. this pain is very real and painful

Hang on for the MRI...generally I would assume that the,,its in your head  thing is because its not what they thought,,,i had the same experience exactly..I was even offered the services of a pychiatrist. after  a year I changed my surgeon....The new guy used the SAME MRI as the old one and found thoracic disc herniations that in my case needed surgery. ,,,so my advice would be get the MRI but get a second opinion on reading if need be. You know your body..if there is pain there is a problem.
Good luck
