Herniated disks and medication

My 5 lumbar disks are herniated.  I have no sciatica pain at all.  My ortho DR has prescribed valium and methylprednisolne.  I also suffer from diverticulosis....currently no flare ups.  The last two days I have had some pain and some diareaha.  Is this caused from the medication.  Also i am taking 4 advil a day with a pepcid.  I know about the problems of ulcers all these meds can cause.  But is all this medication causing the diareaha??  Please advise.

The muscle relaxers I assume was to relax the muscles in my lower back since they completely stiffened up since the herniation.  The predison....they are suppose to be for discs....the advil for pain...and the pepcid so I dont get an ulcer.  I am just wondering if all the meds together is giving me my intestinal distress........but looking back i think i just answered my own question....

Oh just reread where ur ortho dr prescribed those...probably for ur back. If ur hernias present with no symptoms, id question why I'm taking all these drugs...if it were me I would that is.

Just wondering if u have no pain from ur discs, why ur on muscle relaxers? For ur diverticolosis? Is that why u also take predisone? Id ask ur pharmacist or review the papers that come with ur prescriptions that talk about side-effects. Best of luck to ya:)
