Why are my thighs burning so bad

I have been experiencing burning on the anterior portion of my thighs usually at night while attempting to go to sleep.  This started about 2 weeks ago.  I have history of 3 back surgeries; laminectomy, ALIF, and posterior lumbar fusion with instrumention/graft.  I have recovered quite well, but wonder if this burning is due to nerve impingment from my back condition.  Please help!  I don't even know if this is the right area to be searching for an answer, but I haven't found anything else that deals with burning sensations.  Thanks so much in advance.

Patty

I think I have the same thing going on. I recently had tmj surgery but before that I have had a burning sensation, first in the right thigh but then the left now both. To me it feels like bolts of electricity going through my veins and it can bring me to my knees. It has been some time since you posted. Have you found any relief?

laminectomy, ALIF, and posterior lumbar fusion ,etc, they can relive your pain, but they can't completely get rid of inflammation around your problem area, inflammation was due to soft tissue injury. that lead to tissue sensitive, then affect nerves, then burning sensation.so,keep movement and maybe acupuncture can help......
