can anyone tell me what this means in simple terms?

I HAD AN MRI HERE IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN GIVEN IF ANYONE CAN TELL ME IN SIMPLE TERMS WHAT IT MEANS I'D BE GREATFUL.      MR LUMBAR SPIN, THERE IS GRADE 1 SPONDYLOLISTHESIS AT THE LUMBOSACRAL LEVEL. THERE IS MINOR REDUCED SIGNAL IN L4/5 AND LUMBOSACRAL DISCS. AT L4/5, THERE IS MINOR BILATERAL SYNOVITIS OF THE FACET JOINTS, MORE SO ON THE RIGHT SIDE. AT L5-S1, THERE ARE SEVERE HYPERTROPHIC DEGENERATIVE CHANGES IN THE RIGHT FACET JOINT WITH SYNOVITIS SEEN ON THE LEFT. AT NO LEVEL, IS THERE ENCROACHMENT ON THE SPINAL CANAL. THE CENTRAL CANAL AND INTERVERTEBRAL FORAMINA ARE WELL PRESERVED. THERE IS NO FOCAL DISC PROTRUSION AT ANY LEVEL. THERE IS MINIMAL ANNULAR DISC BULGE AT L3/4 AND L4/5 BUT THERE IS NO THECAL OR NEURAL COMPRESSION.

Since having this mri last year im now suffering with bad neck pain aswell as back pain, if anyone could let me know what this means in simple terms i'd be very greatful.

No worries ..pleased to help.

please remember that if you are still in alot of pain and not happy..you need to make sure you get to see a consultant and not in  anyone his team.find out exactly what they think the problem is and what treatment is on offer to support you.

MRI results cannot always  show  problems that do exist for example on moving there can be irritation of nerves etc. Also the results of an MRI very much depend on who interpretes them...as they do need alot of experience to read correctly.

if you are still not happy get a second opinion...

I didnt do this myself and suffered for a year before I  asked for  one.Immediately they identifed the problem by a more thorough exam plus re-reading the MRI.

Anyway all the best

Ok I am only very limited in my help. You need a medic or someone who know sthe lngo but Ill try cos I want to help if I can

The MRI scan shows no disc prolapses compressing either the spinal cord or the nerve bundles that come out between the  sides of the verebrae. At Lumbar3/4 and 4/5 the ring around the discs are slightly bulging but are not compressing the covering around the spinal cord or  spinal nerves.
Now..at the bottom  end of your back the bone is less dense. At the end of the lumbar region L4-5(lower back) and near the tail the nerve signals are not 100% effective and at the same region there is  a little inflammation of the verebra where they fit together to form the verebral colomn which is more on the right than left.
At the tail end of your back (L4/S1) i think that this means that the  right verebral spine joint ( google a picture of a verebral bone and your see what looks like a stumpy body and  a right and left outstreched arm0 is significant larger than normal and the left  arm joint is imflammed.
i hope that helps (must admit..my friend a nurse  is helping me ). Google spondyloilisis thing as Im not sure exactly what that is.
you can pay some to get an online dr to tell you if it still freaks you out  but I think we got the gist here..
Good luck
