Chick, that's awful!!!! I'm so sorry for the choronic pain ur husband has to deal with!!!! *hugs* its very debilitaiting!!!!
I have watched my husband suffer from a bad back for the past 16 years. About 9 years ago his Dr. told him if he went in and cleaned up the lower five disks that it would make all the difference in the world as far as walking and the pain. He had the surgery and about 1 month after his whole back collasped to now no Dr. will touch him. He has to sleep sitting in a chair for support and can not take enough of any medication, and beleive me he has tried them all, the pain never gives him a brake. All the Drs. tell him now is that there is nothing that can be done and they just give him more pain killers. There is never a day goes by that he isn.t crying in pain. Now my back is giving me alot of problems but I never will agree to any surgery after having seen my husband suffer like this and the way the Drs. now threat him. He was no more than an experiament to them, thats all. They gave him false hope and messed him up to where there is no repair that can be done. I wish you the best
Have u got sciatic pain i.e. pain down your leg(s) at all? And what surgery did u have? microdiscectomy? where they trim the protruding disc off rather than whole disc removal, guess it must be the 1st one if it recurrs. Sorry about all the questions but another one what part of yr body did u fall on to? I had a fall 2 yrs ago and fell onto my bum. I had all the typical sciatica pain and was diagnosed with a slight lh disc protrusion and degenerative disc disease. This sounded ridiculous to me as the slight protrusion had no impact on my nerve? ? but very high and mighty spinal consultants CAN NOT be wrong! My lovely physio (26) 2 yrs later told me I had posttraumatic piriformis syndrome. Check it out google it. maybe u have the same btw it would be possible to have BOTH problems after a fall disc and piriformis. Maybe they have fixed i but need to now fix the other. Good luck.

It is time for you to get more aggressive.
I assume that you are on disability, but if not, you may need to apply, using an attorney. You should be able to refuse any more surgeries and, since they haven't provided relief, your position should be unchallenged.
Start looking for pain management doctors (http://www.healthgrades.com/local-doctors-directory/by-specialty/pain-medicine/florida-fl) and get copies of your medical records.
Since your medical records should reflect your struggle, you may be able to find a doctor willing to start treating your with stronger pain medications.
Hope this helps.
I wish you the BEST OF LUCK!
I have been suffering for 3.5 years...and every doctor i see (25+) think they can fix my back! Diagnosed with herniated disc at L5S1...they didn't know it was completely crushed to no repair until they went in and did a discectomy! Which led me to a fusion 1.5 years later...something I was trying to avoid.
You want to avoid ALL PAIN PILLS!!! They are so addictive! Something I am going thru now. It is much easier to just pop a few pills to take the pain away...but three to four hours later....it comes back...and much stronger!!! Leading to more and more....and then you will never get off!
Try Bayer Back & Body....I swear by it. And swimming helps! It relieves all the pressure off your back. That is my Magic Medicine. Unfortuantely the pressure comes back when you leave the water, but it feels so good while you are in there.
Now I wish I lived in Florida....those doctors are smarter than the ones in Boston. They use us as guine pigs (spelling is incorrect?!) and shove pills down our throats to shut us up while they experiment with all this new crap!
Just do what feels good...for YOU....and avoid the pills and surgery unless absolutely necessary!!!
Good Luck! And God Bless. I dont wish back issues/pain on anyone. Worse than natural labor!
