help

I recently injured my back at work by putting a 10lb box of orange box onto the floor. I squatted using my knees but apparently my back was not in proper alignment because when I raised up I felt a pop sensation. As the day progressed the pain worsened until I had numbness in my right but cheek and shooting pain down my leg to my toes. I went to the doctor and recived a steroid shot. The doctor said I would feel relief in about 24-48 hour, however i never did. After 3 weeks of suffering in excruciating pain the doctor finally scheduled me for a MRI and xrays, yesterday the the assistant called me and said that they did not see any nerve damage but that I had 2 slipped disks and one broken one above my tailbone. She put me on a steroid pack and gave me ultram, but has refered me to a pain clinic. My 2 questions are why is my right butt cheek still going numb and shooting pain down to my toes if theres no nerve damage and what can I expect from the pain clinic.

HI...I am not a Dr...but u don't need to have nerve damage to have numbness.
U have slipped disks that  most likely are inpinging a nerve causing the numbness.

If u ask for a copy of the report from the MRI u may find out a bit more ...or when u see the dr as a follow up.
