herniation of c6-7

I have herniation of c6-7. After steriod oral medication(about a month ago), my symptoms have reduced by about 70%. I still have numbness of my left index finger and some stiffness on my leftside. I've no problem doing low impact eliptical or stationary bike exercise. My  neurosurgeon wants to operate on me because my left hand has weakened somewhat. However, I'm function quite well and prefer therapy before considering surgery. I'm also want to seek a 2nd opinion from another neurosurgeon. I would appreciate your opinion. Thank you. MT

Thank you. I appreciate your feedback. I've had feedback from others who gave me the hope that therapy will work for me -- it did for them. I'm optimistic.

Have a good day.

Its great to hear the steroids helped, don’t let anyone pressure you into having surgery you don't feel you need. These procedures should only be done as a last resort.

I had my C6-7 fused as well as C4-5 and let me tell you, sometimes the cure can be worse than the disease.

And it probably would be a good idea to get another opinion.

Take care,
