hurting

I fell off step of a tractor trailer 2 days ago and landed on my left side and hip, felt fine after got up and continued to go to my delivery, as I was almost to destination, I went to push clutch in and couldnt hardly move my left leg and was painful to move it, got to dest and got out of truck and was not able to hardly walk, had to have help to get back in it. Came back home and had to go be seen at a "clinic" because its work comp related injury, X rays show no broken bones, was gave a steriod shot and prescribed pain med. Well I am still in alot of pain from my hip to my knee and can not walk without crutches, Is this something that will go away or should it be looked at by a real doctor? As long as I am sitting, the pain is not as great, but standing or walking is impossable. Need a little advice on what I should do...

You have a workman's compensation issue and the way that works, if you don't see a doctor, the injury does not exists ad far as comp. goes.It may resolve or the pain may become chronic. In any event you need that documentation, so go to a physician immediately. You need a few days of rest, and generally (hopefully) the pain goes away. Incidentally, you can see any doctor anywhere for a comp. injury. They lie when they tell you it has to be their physician. Fib, fib. They are disingenuous when they refer you to the company comp doctor. His/her only job is to report there is no injury. They are not your advocates. Be VERY careful what you tell them. Always tell them "I'm in lots of pain". Also they will ask you to sign a release for your medical records. You don't have to sign a complete release. It should be time dated (with an expiration date) and limited (for example exempt psychiatric records). Good luck.
