Hi I would get an MRI done. I had this problem when I was 13years after a fall at school(I am now37). Had tests done and it showed that I had broken my tail bone. The pain was bad.and Every year around the same time the pain would get worse.

An MRI would show up any problems. I recently had an MRI done, as I was getting lower back pain, stomach pain, head aches and more the test showed that I have a tarlov cyst on my S2.

Good luck

most surely need an MRI to determine problem, Try to get an appointment with your orthopedic if you have one. As most will agree, u need to really sit on your primary until its an emergency however every doctor and their associate is different. begining treatment is necessary, don't delay.

I have similar pain. June 2005 I went to foot doctor for heel pain. They put me in inserts $500.00. after wearing for 2 weeks my back started hurting and hasnt stopped.  Now I have pain and soreness stiffness in tailbone. I get spasms when I sit for 10 mins down my hips and thighs,Groin pain after walking too much.
I went to Ortho Specialist who said it is Degenerative Disc Disease at L-5 l5-S1 and Arthritis. Wants be to get Shots in Spine. forget that.

I think we have the degeneration happening and one event makes it generate the pain.

You definately need MRI done.  Most Family Drs wont do it until you complain for 6mos, due to insurance companies want to hear its not just back ache.  Mri will tell you if its DDD or other problems like bulging or herniated disc.

Good luck
