mri results

I was hoping that someone would know what the results of my MRI mean.  He thinks I may have a pinched nerve which is why he ordered an MRI.  I have an appointment with my doctor but unfortunately it's not for a couple of weeks.  The exam showed this:
c5-c6:  small left paracentral disc protrusion contacting the left ventral cord, slightly indenting it.  Patent neuroforamina.
c6-c7: minimal right paracentral disc buldge.  Patent neural foramina.

Impression:  Small left paracentral disc protrusion contacting the left ventral cord.  No significant neuroforaminal compromise.

Any help translating this into laymans terms is greatly appreaciated.

another words in your neck in the cervical area meaning c-5 andc-6 you have a disc that is  pushed out further than it should be and it is affecting part of a nerve that will cause a pinched nerve. and in cervical c-6 and c 7 you have a small disc that is pushed out further  that is affecting some of the nerve in small way. and where is says so significant neruoforaminal compromise. meaning the spinal cord is not affected very much. All this can be causes pain but not significant to cause surgery, but still can be painful like causes sharp shooting pain in the arm, hope this helps a little
