neck mri

My mri shows that I have 4 herniated discs.  One has contouring, one is stable, one has narrowing, and one has a small protrusion.  I have had this trouble for about 12 or 13 years.  They suggest a neurosurgeon.  Is this something to consider?  I have throughout the years done chiropractic, physical therapy, shots, you name it.  I still have episodes where I can not function at all or turn my head.

My MRI was just a couple of weeks ago.  That is when I recieved those results.  Thanks for your help.  I actually see a neuro in Nashville in 2 weeks.  Thanks again, Christy

Yes, I think you should at least consult with a good neurosurgeon. Have you had any recent MRI's? Herniations can deteriorate over time, leaving the discs to dry up, and causing your spinal bones to rub together and press on the spinal cord. With 4 herniated discs in neck, I would recommend you not have chiro treatments until you consult with a neuro, as it can make it much worse. There have even been cases of paralysis by chiro. Good luck with this.
