neck pain

I recently fell in the back of a mail truck (LLV) while loading my mail for delivery. I caught my shoe, stumbled forward, and struck my head like a bull on the inside of the truck, which gave me a huge pumpknot and jammed my head into my shoulders. x-rays showed narrowing of the C5/6 with spurring. My neck was not hurting before. How bad can this get?

Just read your comments. Falls can be very tricky. Do you know of a chiropractor that is near to where you live ? I think the first step is to go to
your family doctor so your doctor can examine you. You may need a referral of a specialist, x-rays done etc. Good luck. Eve

It can get pretty painful, to the point of having to wear a neckbrace, as any movement will cause pain. I had the same type of injury in a car accident (we stopped short, and my head hit ceiling very hard). I remember "feeling like a turtle' for a while, like my head was being pushed down into my body. My neck compression ended up fixing itself, and i had no lasting problems. i hope you end up the same way. Just follow the doctors orders.
