sorry for the pain you are suffering I have similar MRI readings however mine isn't due to a traumatic injury.
DO LOTS OF READING....here on the archives and also THE PAIN MANAGEMENT FORUM, you will find many with similar issues and what has and hasn't worked for them.
Just do alot of homework before ever considering surgery...this should be the last possible option especially when the spine and nerves are involved...a slight slip can leave you paralyzed or at the least in much much more pain.
In my limited knowledge, for an injury like yours the herniation usually repairs itself given time and exercises that a physio will show you how to do. In the meanwhile, rest and do stretches...alternating heat/ice is recommended, if you need stronger interim medications to help you with the physio than ask this of your doctor...ibprf is a pretty light med and mostly for inflammation I believe.

If the treatment plan that you're on is not helping then you need to go back to the doctor and ask about other treatments. You should also work with your auto insurance company; their job is to go after the other driver's insurance company to make sure that the bills are paid. You should get whatever treatment is necessary to bring you back to health.

Be as persistent with your doctor as the pain is with you. Repeating the same action and expecting a different result is insanity.
