shoulder blade pain

burning pain in my left shoulder blade - arm going numb sometimes and hand tingling but not often   pain goes from shoulder blade down left side  but does not leave the should blade area

I agree with monsterjam2,numbness and tingling in arm and hand can be a
sign of nerve problems in cervical spine.It also can be a more serious matter.
Doctor trip is great advice also,I hope you get better soon.

Numbness and tingling indicate some type of nerve involvement.  Could be a pinched nerve, could be swelling of a muscle that is pushing on a nerve.  Burning pain often is a pull or a tear of a muscle/ligament. Is this pain in relation to an injury of some kind?  If it's something you know for a fact that you did, you can try over-the-counter analgesics, Ice (1st 24 hours) heat (after 24 hours), and rest.  No improvement within a few days would warrant a trip to the doc.  If there is not a cause you can pinpoint, then a trip to the doc  would be in order.  Best of luck, and speedy recovery!
