Lithium Question

This is my first time being put on Lithium, and I have been on it for a month now. I have moments where I know it is helping and then moments where I feel like it isn't working as well. I have gone through 5 lithium level labs so far and my next one is coming up next week, but my levels are always a little low. What are your experiences with Lithium, and how does it work for you?

I have been on Lithium since being diagnosed two or three years ago.....my pdoc calls it my oxygen. I find it helps....but watch out in the summer!!!!!!!! I didn't even think about this but the heat REALLY messes with your lith levels and even if you are taking them You feel like a seesaw!!!! I was all over the place last summer and I didn't know why cuz I was really taking my meds.....then I got tested and was way out of whack!

So get some shade in the summer.....not for the tanning sun worshipers that's for sure!

Otherwise very helpful...thanks for reminding me....gotta take em.

Lithium if the only med I have tried that helps me, but everyone is different. The first couple months it didn't help at all, then my dose was too high and I went toxic, since going down from there everything is more manageable. I still have episodes, it actually seems like I have more but they are much more manageable than before.
