I had that actually last week(not the wanting to fly, but rage) , they had to tweak my meds, sometime if you are given too many benzo's it will have the opposite reaction. There are drugs that you can take daily though, we can't diagnose you here, but I am on Seroquel 300mgs@ night, because that was the worst time for me, I'd get buzzy at night, and if I get break throgh anxiety even rage I add another 50mgs, but it works better then a benzo long term. Are you on an anti-depressnat or a mood stabilizer? Sometimes it takes awhile to get it right. I didn't think I had the same symptoms before I was diagnosd, because I was used to them.
You really need to speak to your psychiatrist, and if you don't have one, you really need to. Being med free is not such a good idea, BP doesn't go away, it just doesn't. Think of it like being a diabetic, you might not like taking the needles every day, but they are why you are stable. Give your pdoc a shout and get a better drug regime going on.
She put me on bupropion 75mg and anax .25mg to start reason for such low dose was I was pregnant. She worked me up to 300mg buproprion and the 4mg xanax after I had the baby.
Maybe this just isnt the right med for me..I dont know but I go to see her in a few days so I can wait, I dont think I'll go flying untill then.
I want to get completely off the xanax...I am wondering if theres not something I can take routinely to prevent the panic-anxiety instead of the instant xanax?
Have you spoken to your doctor about this? It might be that you need a medication review (you do not say what you are taking) because you should not be getting that manic on a mood stabiliser.
The feeling does go away when you are stable on the right meds.
As to xanax - it can cause the effects you are talking about.
Really I think its time to talk to your doctor.
