My medicine not work until now.
I'm on Lithium 400mg twice daily and lamictal 100mg twice too.
I don't know what country your in so I really can't help you as far as therapist go. Here in the US they are everywhere.
You won't now if you don't try. Most of us see a therapist weekly, whether meds are working or not.
I forgot something. I contact with therapist online.
Therapist not available in the hospital.
I don't think he'll help without useful medication. It should be in combination.
I know it is! Have you thought about seeing a therapist? The right one can really help.
For many of us it's our bipolar disorder that causes the ups and downs regardless of medication. This is my case.
Last days I became worse. I was better.
I don't think lithium start work and I can't find lithium capsules where I live.
Currently, I'm only on Lithium and lamictal.
Just keep in mind that just because your on a particular med doesn't mean it's going to work. Even when your at the max dosage it might not work for you. It's best if you can help it to be on fewer drugs.
I take lamictal plus lithium. I will discuss with my doc increase lithium dose and may add another med. May add syroquil.
You may need another med in addition to the lithium to help with the other symptoms. This is common. Talk to your pscychiatrist about that.
I'm sorry about your headaches.
Meds doesn't help me with headache before.
I do my tests regularly. My doc know about all treatment.
I think lithium start working but too slowly. It affects on thy ugly and worst face of my depression but no effect on other symptoms.
Whether your headaches started befor lithium or not, you still need lots of water to prevent more headaches. Their are meds you can get from a Neurologist if over the counter meds don't work. Take Tylenol not ibruprofen since your on lithium.
You can try over the counter sleep aids just check with your pharmacist first to make sure you can take it with lithium. I know you can take prescription meds for sleep with lithium.
Make sure you pscychiatrist knows what supplements your taking and how much. Too much of a vitamin can be bad.
My headache problem started before be on lithium. May started when with the beginning of disease. I don't know.
About Sleep meds, do you prefer natural?
Now, I take lithium as doctor said.
My tests are ok but I am already take supplements.
I meant to type episodes not depisodes.
Sleep problems are often an issue. Lithium didn't help my sleep but adding Saphris to my regimine did. Depisodes can also disrupt your sleep. There are sleep meds you can always try too.
If your not drinking enough water on Lithium you are likely to get headaches.
Water is very important when taking Lithium.
Vitamin B and D are very important. You can have your dr check your levels. Also check your folic acid. My folic acid was fine but I was deficient in L-Mythlfolate (the breakdown of folic acid) so I have to take that now too. Have your iron and cortisol checked too. These deficiencies can definetly affect our mood. Fish oil is good to take.
If you tried to increase your dose (which is not reccomended without the doc) how long were you on the increase? Too much Lithium can be toxic, effect your kidneys and give you bad side effects. That's why the doc needs to decide how much to give you.
Thanks for your supportive answer.
My sleep still not stable. Also, My biplar cause chronic headache.
Can u give me examples for helpful food or nutrients?
Lithium still not work. My dose 400mg (twice) I try increase the dose by myself but still not work.
Some answers her suggest try lithium capsules but I didn't find it where I live until now.
Group therapies are perfect as they provide supportive company but the point it is expensive here in Egypt..only two places do it professionally
Bipolar Disorder is long Long LONG story ...in my capacity as bipolar disorder sufferer but it's a disease that you can tame and the good news is that there are so many great people were suffering bipolar disorder; Frued, Virginia Woolf, Victor Hugo, Bill Clinton, Hitlar and so many others. Be punctual on your medication is one of the most important things, do blood analysis for lithium level in blood is also very important on periodical basis, there are some food that may help, sleeping is a key indicator..stable sleeping patterns is indicator of stablility and decrease or increase means your medication needs to be modified contact the psychatrist asap. These times of in between seasons is remarkable for relapse i.e. manic or depressive episodes..Avoid negative people, read about how to maintain positive mental attitude, prayer of course help
Honestly I don't know. Maybe ask your dr.
Can I buy lithium online? Do u know trust website?
I take 600 mg in am and 300mg in pm, but everyone is different. It can
Take several weeks for lithium to work, same with most other meds.
