I have been on lamitical for just over three years. And i had when i first started i use to tremble from one side to another and it was an awful feeling. And it use to make me sick, so i lost weight, but after a wile your system does get use to it, and i would remommend people to try lamitical as it had had a very positive affect in my life.
I spent about twenty years on depakote. My doctors refused to change Meds. I told them I felt the meds I was taking for bipolar disorder was causing me to gain weight which they denied. Until I developed diabetes then the doctor put me on 100mg a day. I have been on the drug for three months and have lost 20 pounds. My only problem is it gives me terrible stomach upset and diaherra. Does anyone else suffer from this problem.
Hi. My son is 13 and began taking lamictal and went up to 100mg and then they went to 200mg for a week. He said he felt like he had no emotions- just numb. His doctor went back to the 100mg and added risperdal and all went well. So yes- it could take time or it could simply be too high a dose for you. I would definately talk about it.

I am presently taking 150mg of Lamictal twice a day. I did have similar symptoms when I first started it. Now I have found that it has helped me tremendously. Good Luck.

hi roscoe230 -- you didn't say how long you've been taking lamictal. It will take 4-6 weeks for the drug to settle in. I stumbled, mumbled, and bumbled, too, but got through it. shawn
