Gosh, I'm sorry about the car accident. The issue with taking unprescribed pain meds is that it is illegal. And undocumented in your medical charts. Meds all interact and compound with each other. Any doctor will want to know EVERYTHING that you are taking. Klonopin is a benzo as you know and a scheduled medication like pain meds are. This means that potential for abuse and addiction can happen. Just like for pain meds. This is hard but your best bet is to begin being legit with your drug use. Pain clinic if you are indeed in pain and need help. Where they monitor you and control things. taking unprescribed pain meds is indicative of an abuse problem. This would concern ANY doctor you see. And they have a responsibility to protect you. by responsible prescribing. And also protect themselves form any liability. Would you consider a pain clinic? I also think you need to come clean with your psych. Let us know how the appointment went. Come back and talk to us!
P.S. I have bipolar disorder, anxiety and borderline personality disorder. I have been taking pain meds (not prescribed to me) for unbearable pain from an accident. I'm afraid she will test me when I see her in two days. I don't know what will happen if I fail the test, except that she said she'd stop prescribing.
