what do you think? besides a good couselor and a good psyciatrist I think your symptoms and you are the better judge of this condition, accepting the disorder is a totally different other. 18 years is a long time to say you are bipolar and than all of a sudden it's a wrong diagnosis. Doesn't sound right.Yes, get a second opinion find out the reputation of the New one. How new is he?
Yeah but you need to see the right psychiatrist. Not all of them know what they are doing. My counselor seem to know more about this then the doctor herself. And remember people tend to be more open and relax with them instead of doc. Depends on if you are comfortable with them or not
I would try and get a second opinion preferable from a psychiatrist. Counselors aren't trained in diagnosis. I would also look at the effect medication has on you. If the medications that usually help bipolar are helping you then it is more likely you have bipolar. If the medications aren't helping you - then maybe it is anxiety. I hope it is anxiety as that is far more treatable.
I would go to another so you can get a different opinion. Its really hard to pinpoint because so many symptoms can come from various disorders. I am not saying it cant be from that but you should get another opinion.
