The only advice I can give is if you get any rash call your doctor right away.
Sadly, I can no longer take Lamictal because I'm allergic to it. :(
Oops, my message from 8/4/09 should have been to Collegebeauty22. Sorry !!!!!!!!!! Thanks
OK, now get you a calendar and put the amt to take on each day, even though starter pack say day#, The calendar helped me tremendously whan I started Lamictal. I crossed of each day on calendar when I took meds. Silly, But I rewarded myself with a small treat each time I completed a doseage amt for # of days, in the amt of time without stopping and starting. It is very important to do as MD for meds to be affective.
Yeah, like iladcocate said it takes a while to get in your system. I keep messing up and stopping my meds and going through manias and depressions and stuff so I have had to start over a few times. I am now on my 2nd week of Lamictal for God knows which time... You should really like Lamictal though.
I'm sure your psychiatrist has been through this but it will take a couple of months to build up to a proper dose because Lamictal must be raised at a slow rate because of the potential of a rare rash (which is only 1 in a thousand people who take it and lowers after the first six months). I and many people found Lamictal to be quite tolerable as a medication but I remember when I was on it it took a while to feel it working at the dosage rate required. Once it gets there and things stabilize it should be fine though.
