It's a wonderful thing that you've recognized that you have a problem and that you want to fix it.  Let me tell you that is number 1 and you are already on your way to recovery.  I battled with Vicodin addiction for several years and it I took a good long hard look at my life that I got up the courage to look in the mirror and say 'enough is enough.'  You will certainly need support, but mostly you will need to do it because you want to (much easier said than done I know!!! Trust me, relapse is no fun, neither is starting over).  You should maybe talk to your doctor about ways to quit, or if you aren't comfortable with that, talk to a counselor.  I do suggest that you find a NA group in your area.  It's discreet, and it is very very helpful to see people who are in your shoes and going through the same things, as well as people who WHERE in your shoes and have made so much improvement.  Surround yourself with positive thinking, spruce up your diet and excercise...walking will take a lot off of your mind.  I wish you the best of luck and if you need anything, please let me know.  It's hard being there, but it's so much better when you are finally on the other side!!

yes, you have to quit the weed, absolutely!  living with BP is hard enough without adding to the problem with weed or other types of drugs.  You must take your BP medicine as prescribed, and nothing else.  unfortunately I have no advice on how to quit the weed as I have never done that stuff, just hang in there and be tough.  wishing you all the best.

Very good, Cheek!  I went over to the addiction forum to get the link for you and there you are!  Way ahead of me, aren't you?

Don't really know what to tell you other than you just have to do it.  I never smoked weed, but I drank a lot.  Also smoked cigs like a chimney afire.  Of course, as bps it's in our nature to be addicted easily.  Makes it harder for us to give up the stuff.

Get the support from wherever you have to and just do it.  That was not suppose to sound like a Nike commercial.  It takes a lot of strength and determination, but I know you can do it.  I know how badly you want to be without it and how it makes you feel worse about yourself b/c you think you can't.  But we all know you can.

Praying for you on this hard journey.  We'll all be here for you  whenever you need us.
