Thoughts about Abilify

I can't believe how I have been feeling since starting this medicine last week. I am so much more engaged socially, positive attitude, energy, not moody, irritated or withdrwn. Has anyone had similar effects with this drug (or others like it)?

On the flip side, I'm feeling scared that this is only temporary. I have been on anti depressents for many years and have those good weeks and then it disappears. Although, this feels much different....Anyway....fingers are crossed.

I just started Abilify about a month ago.  I don't "notice" an increase in mood but admit I have HUGE stress in my life right now.  
My therapist says I have been more engaged in therapy.  Your message gives me hope that he is correct.

Yes atypical antipsychotics such as Abilify do help as regards relating to people. I did find them helpful (I have schizoaffective and have made a full recovery, read through my posts) and unlike anti-depressents their effect does usually last long term as long as you keep the dose stable. Glad to hear things have improved and I would say you can expect it to last. Sometimes it does take a while to find the correct medication and dose but its a good feeling when it happens.
