Thank you all for your support & knowledge. I appreciate it so much!
You made me laugh Monkeyc, what a way to put it!
MONKEYC, I HAVE TO SAY YOU SAID IT LIKE IT IS, "WE ARE WALKING PILL BOTTLES"! THAT IS THE BEST WAY I HAVE EVER HEARD IT PUT!! MY HUSBAND ASKED ME IF I RATTLED WHEN I WALK. RJ
Ahh yeah, that can happen easily - if youre in a hospital they always give you maxolon or something similar for the nausea and i knoe pethedine, fentanyl and morphine all cause nausea.
I hear you on the pills, I worked out that with Lithium, AD, Ranitidine, and a couple of other things im approaching 10 pills PM and 6 pills AM now. Were walking pill bottles :)
update!!!!
Saw my gen. prac. today...
She said the nausea is due to the pain killers I am taking
for the surgery....
She said also to call the surgeon tomorrow to ask him to
prescibe something different, that my tummy would ease
when taking them...
Which makes sense...
She prescribed phenergan in the meantime to take...
She said the throat feeling constricted is due to the fact
I take so many pills...(Seizue meds, bipolar meds, pain
meds)...or, if it continues to see about getting my throat
dilated possibly....with Drs approval of course...
hi, sounds like you're doing everything right. have you tried eating and then waiting half an hour before taking meds. or ask your doc for an anti-nausea med. it's worth a try. nausea is an awful thing to try to live with. good luck with it,
The first thought I had was if you were pregnant! You answered that question. The thought of taking meds make you sick, may be that taking pills just stresses you out. Being sick like that and having the pills get stuck in your throat could be from something else. Have you had your thyroid checked? One of the first signs of thyroid problems is things getting stuck in throat or it feels like you swallowed a big ball of air. You may want to go to your dr and have it checked out. They can do a blood test to find out if your hormones are out of whack. The thyroid will cause that. A thyroid dr is an Endocrinologist. I have hypothyroidism. I have to take medication every day for it and always will to control what it does and keep it from getting any bigger. When the thyroid enlarges it presses against the esophogus, causing swallowing problems. I have had nausea problems at times but I don't know that it was caused by my thyroid. Keep in touch. RJ
