Sounds right. I started out on 1000mgs of depakote went all the way up to 3000mg then was switched to something completely different. But if it's working for you then stick with it. My dad was in the miliatary and has alot of anxiety depression as well as PTSD. Being around him rubbed off onto me and made me who I am today =) good luck with your meds if you think something isnt right talk to your prescriber don't be afraid to step up some drs will just give you whatever you want to get paid.
hi thanks it does seem to be working, ive been as stable as ive ive been for a good few years!!i was started on carbamezapine at first and it didnt do the trick but feel a lot calmer now
Yup. Sounds right. I think the depakote mg is kinda high, but if it's working and you feel good, It's probably the right dosage for you. :) hope I helped
Those are all pretty standard bipolar meds. You'll really have to watch your weight with the Zyprexa. The proof is in the pudding. How do you feel? If you feel stable and able to function mostly normally then you are on the right meds. If you do not feel that way it is time to go back to the psychiatrist and get on some different medications.
Does the armed forces have a job developer? Someone who helps you transition into the workforce. The other option you could do is go to a head hunter organisation and see if they will take you on as a client. The book "What colour is your parachute?" is a great book for anyone searching for a job or a new career. It has been in print for years. I find it really helpful. And since it has been in print the cost isn't high. I think you can probably get it for about $25, but even if it costs a bit more it is worth every penny.
