Well, I hope it gets better. Lots of medicines make me sleepy. Even non-drowsy cold medicines make me sleepy. I'm just really waiting for it to really kick in.
hi..since ur just starting out on lamotrigine a missed dose for a night won't cause any problems!
also the sleepiness side effect SHOULD weaken over the next few weeks than u could possibly( talk to your doc first) take at lunch instead of pm...
when I first began lamotrigine I was taking a.m. and p.m.
So its what works for you!!
That's a good idea, but I don't have a cell phone. I left myself a note one day but I forget to leave the notes, too. Stupid memory.
I think it was easy for me for the first few days because I want to feel better, but now that I feel weird but not really better I think I'm not as excited about the whole thing. But maybe I can motivate myself somehow. Like if I don't forget to take my meds for a whole two weeks I get a prize. Well I have to get used to it because soon I will also be taking birth control pills (instead of depo shot) and I can't forget those for sure. At least forgetting this med doesn't mean I will be pregnant. >.> But this is good practice and I will take them both together.
If these ones didn't make me sleepy I would take them at lunch time because at lunch I have the same routine every day. At bed time we don't really have a set routine.
Thanks everyone for your advice. I really appreciate having other people who are similar to me to talk to.
I have to take pills throughout the day, so I set a bunch of alarms on my cell phone to ring every day. I always have my cell with me, so I can't forget. :)
Until a few days ago i thought anyone who is braindead enough to be able to forget 1 little pill every morning is a complete idiot but i did it two days running last week. Its easier if its in your routine like you take it at a time when you do something the same every day.
That's okay. Well, I am leaving myself little notes. Earlier time and little notes might help, right? I have to get used to this. >.>
ah ha i didnt think about that one sorry i live on my own
Thanks for all your suggestions. My only thing with the toothbrush is I have little kids at home. Preschool age. So, I keep all meds put away where they are safe. I did remember to take them last night. I took them earlier than before so maybe it will be easier. Hope so.
Put your pill on top of your toothbrush, i doubt youll forget to brush your teeth ;)
See, I'm terrible at remembering to take any type of medicine regularly for long periods of time. I think last night I was finally able to just kind of relax for a bit in the evening, so then I forgot. I've become more absent minded about a lot of things in the past few years. I also forgot to do the laundry until right before bed.
I want to get one of those boxes eventually, but I need like a siren or something to remind me. I wish the med tracker would remind me.
I remember to take mine just by the sheer fact of being scared of what I'm like without them.
Those pill containers that are also reminder devices are good as well as simply posting a note on a bulletin board. That's what I do.
