I am currently taking invega and I have a wierd side effect that come along with it. When I am experiencing the side effect my eyes become uncontrollable and I lose my full sense of concentration. A doctor I have seen in the past describes this side effect as a spasm. It is painful and it is a pest. I have medication for the side effect but it does not work as fast as I would like. Does anyone have advice or tips about what I should do about it? If so, that would be a lot of help.

Any side effect pill including Benadryl works by lessening the mount of muscle tension and could relieve that. Speak to your psychiatrist about  what specifically might be of help.

An oculogyric crisis is the probable term for it. That's when a temporary movement disorder such as dystonia gets out of hand. There are a variety of options as regards side effect pills from standard ones such as Cogentin and Artane to beta blockers to benzos to Symmetyl (I had that problem a lot when I was on conventional antipsychotics). If the dystonia gets that severe its best to ask your psychiatrist about what are other available options as regard side effect pills that would work. Its also good to carry chewable Benadryl tabs with you in case it occurs and you need something to take to stop it immediately. That's what I always did.
