Birth Control Methods?

Hi, I recetly experienced very heavy bleeding that lasted for over a month.. Then I went to the ER because it was way too much.. Then, the doctor told me I should consider to start using birth control, because I need more hormones in order to have a regular period( I've always had very regular periods evey 30 days, except this one time).. So which types of birth control are better? Which ones are not as effective? Would it affect me if I want to conceive?  Would it increase my chances of pregnancy ?Because my fiance and I have been trying to conceive for a while now. I'd highly appreciate any help :) Thank you.

well if you are trying to have a baby than birthcontrol would make no sense really... you could go on the pill for a couple of months to regulate things you should really get an appt with an ob/gyn to discuss this and make sure that there are no underlying issues

Thank you so much for your advice. I went to the doctor recently, and everything was just fine the gynecologist said it was just that I needed some hormones to regulate things, so he prescribed Loestrin 24 Fe ( Birth control pill).. :)
