Brown discharge and late period

I have been on the pill for over 5 years now.  I had unprotected sex 5 days ago (thursday) but he did not ejaculate inside of me.  My last day of active pills was Friday and my period has still not come.  I have been getting bad back cramps and brown discharge.  Should I worry?  I took a pregnancy test and it was negative.  I'm thinking my period is just late because of the stress I have been under.

Thanks for any answers, I've just been worried!

Most likely you are late just because you are under stress.  When you take birth control pills with both estrogen and progesterone they prevent you from ovulating at all.  It would be very unlikely that you were to conceive (as long as you were taking them as directed - at the same time every day and without missing any pills).

I also had random dark discharge in the middle of the month.  The main reason I am on birth control is cysts.  Could I be getting bigger cysts again and this is affecting my period/giving me discharge in the middle of the month?
