Brown discharge for eight days and bad cramps?

I've been having brown discharge for nearly eight days and it shows no signs of stopping. I was due on my period on the eighth of March but this brown discharge came on the sixth and has stayed. No sign of my regular period. I'm also on the Pill (Microgynon 30, been taking it for two months now) and have regular sex with my boyfriend, I know it can't be an STI or STD as neither of us have them. However, what's really worrying me is yesterday I had quite bad cramps (on my seventh day of brown discharge) they felt almost like menstrual cramps. However, I haven't had cramps on my period since i started the pill (and I usually get cramps BEFORE the period) even though I didn't have a period, if I did hypothetically it would NOT have been when my period was near to an end.

So to sum up, brown discharge for nearly eight days, had bad cramps yesterday. Any suggestions? I did mention this to my doctor last week and she said it was normal when being on the pill. My only question is, why the cramps? And when is the brown discharge going to end? And what is causing it?

Thanks.

i have been in the same position as the above poster, also would suggest a pregnancy test. And if it is negative it is possible that it is your bodies reaction to the pill. After all, you have only been on it for 2 months.

I was on a mini pill for two months and then started spotting brown.  I ended up being pregnant and having a miscarriage.  With the miscarriage I had horrible cramps--but no bleeding.  Just wanted to share what my brown spotting was from because I thought it was the pill causing mine--turns out it wasn't.  Have you taken a pregnancy test?
