Microgynon 30 side effects

Hi there,

I have recently (8 days ago) started taking Microgynon 30 and have had maddening side effects. After spending an age on the internet reading others' posts and answers I have resorted to posting my own question with the hope that someone will be able to help answer my concern.

I have had the common side effects felt by many women... nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, and severe bloating, these I can cope with knowing (or at least hoping) that  they will pass as my body acclimatises to the Pill. However, I have severely itchy skin all over my body. This began when I started on Microgynon 30. I have no rash, and have never had allergic reactions to anything before, and have not changed my washing liquids/clothing materials/body washes etc.

My questions are whether anyone else has suffered form this itching sensation? How long until it passes? Or should I cease taking Microgynon immediately and try another brand?

Any advice/help/experience would be wonderful, I will be incredibly grateful.

I used to be Microgynon 30 and I used to be okay, then after being on it so long I started getting side effects - nausea, heaches etc it was horrible. I ended up being changed to another pill because of it.

Some times like you said, it just happens while your body is trying to get used to the pill but if they continue for another month I would get changed to another pill. It's not worth the side effects, and you end miserable because it's just not working well with your body.

I've been on Microgynon 30 for almost a year now and I've hardly had any side effects from it at all apart from a few headaches and nausea in the first couple of months.. I would suggest that you carry on with the rest of the three month box and then talk to your GP when you go back to get your next subscription. Hopefully, the symptoms will pass as your body gets used to the pill, or the irritation could be unrelated.
