Missed period during placebo week

I have been taking microgestin for one year. I missed a pill one night so I took it as soon as I woke up at 6am. I started my period that morning. I was in the second week of my pack. I just continued taking the pills as directed. I did not get my period during the placebo week. It has now been 9 days since I've taken a pill. I don't want to start another pack until I get my period. Is this normal?

Hi there,
The chances of pregnancy are very unlikely since you have been taking your pills regularly. It is 9 days and your periods have not started so if you suspect chances of pregnancy, consider visiting your gynecologist at the earliest for thorough examination and blood/serum HCG level test to confirm/rule out pregnancy accurately. If pregnancy is ruled out then hormonal fluctuations could be a possibility. Do keep me posted.
Best wishes and regards!

Thanks! I will keep you posted. My gyno has been closed because we have had some winter weather, but they should be open tomorrow. I will give them a call. Do you think I am doing right by not starting another pill pack yet?
