Birth Control and Weight Gain

I was never on BC until Jan 2015. At this time due to breast concerns it was given as an option by my doctors. So at the age of 35 I was inserted with nexaplon. I have always been + or - a pound for the last 15 years. However by June of 2015 I had gained 3 pounds and they were not leaving no matter what. I have been extremely consistent with my low-carb eating and have only increased the intensity and duration of my workouts...and that just led me to June 2016 with another 4 pounds that are not budging. I am scheduled to have the BC removed on Wed even though my PCP stated the weight is because I am getting older... Just curious if anyone has similar concerns or any thoughts to share...
