Why is birth control always left up to the wife? That's so completely unfair and unbalanced! You shouldn't have to get your tubes tied. Your husband should just get a vasectomy.
Even though the procedure for women's sterilization has improved a little, it's still considered a major surgery which requires it to be done in the hospital under anesthesia. And the risk for complications and/or failure is higher than for a man getting a vasectomy. He can just have it done in the urologist's office without any anesthesia and he'll be fine by the next day.
You've already put in the hard work of carrying 2 babies and giving birth. Make your husband do some work for a change and have him get a vasectomy instead of making you have to go through yet another hassle while he doesn't have to do anything.
I'm 29 mom of 2 now and one on the way my youngest is 10 and I decided pretty much 9 yrs ago I didn't want any more but I wanted to be sure . Well 9 yrs later I decided to go ahead with the surgery well that was may 2015 guess what I got pregnant a little over a month after the procedure and now 22 weeks I actually waited 3-1/2 weeks after the recommended weight time I had a mini lap w/ clips I was furious when I found out I was expecting and I didn't know until the end of my third month !! After this baby I'm getting a burn and cut which my doc said had a chance of growing back and my Bf is going im for a vasectomy maybe that will forsure do the job
My husband, age 25, will be getting a vasectomy after our first and only child is born. It is a very noninvasive procedure that can now be done without anesthesia. It is also much more easily reversible (if, God forbid something happens to me my husband would be able to get it reversed should he remarry and choose to have more children.)
I am also choosing to have mine done after 1 child and I am 31. The doctor has advised against it but said that at my age it is different than if I was in my 20's.
But to the people who are saying its permanent, its not, you can get them sewn back together. Just had to add that in there
I would personally choose a different option like nexplanon/implanon or mirena before you tie your tubes. Even tieing your tubes isn't 100% effective and if you were to get pregnant it would cause so many more issues than you'd want. Im 20 and pregnant with my second and I would never even imagine tying tubes, also where I live doctors won't let you until a certain age or with a medical diagnosis
The choice is yours. Because i had one already and one on the way at the time... both by c section... i was asked if i wanted my tubes tied. My husband and I said no.
Here we are with. Baby number 3 on the way, and i still dont want to have my tubes tied.
Its up to you, if you believe its whats best, than do it. If you arent 100 percent sure... then dont.
It's not 100% the younger you are the more chance of fail as tubes and mend thereselves which increases the risk of eptopic pregnancy and further complications there is an 80% regret rate of people who wish they hadn't had it done your doctor if he has said he will do it should have explained this all to you
My doctor will do it, I already asked him and talked with him about it. I'm just looking for some advise about it.
Where I am doctors will not do it unless you already have 3+ kids and are 28.
It might be different where I am, but you can make that decision here in Alberta if you are over 25 or have two kids.
U may not be able to make that decision just yet but u can try alternative if that is what ur doctor say
I would personally say 22 is young to make such a permanent decision like that is there no other form of contraception that would suit you ?
