Can I take emergency contraception on the first day of my period?

Hi. I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend last night. And today I got my period. I wonder can I take emergency contraceptive pill on the first day of my period? Kindly advise...

Yes you can. It may alter your cycle for the next month but it wont harm you.

You can, but don't be surprised if your period is odd.
