skipping placebo pills

Hello! I have a couple questions:

1) I am on my second month of Trinessa birth control. Is skipping the placebo pills safe?

2) How guaranteed is it that I will skip/delay my period if I do this?

3) Will my period simply be delayed? Or skipped entirely?

4) Am I supposed to take the white active pills instead of the placebo pills, or not take anything at all for those 7 days?

5) If I were to take two of the placebo pills, and then stop after those two days, will my period happen for those two days and then go away when I stop?

6) How likely is it that there will be spotting during those days if I were to not take the placebo (green) pills?

I am very new at this, obviously so any answers/suggestions will help! I am going on vacation at the end of the month, and naturally....the 5 days I will be gone = the 5 days I am supposed to get my period.

Please help!

Thank you!

E.

Since you're on a triphasic pill, you would have to take them out of order to skip cause of the different level of hormones in each week. Even still many women who take them out of order still have spotting or breakthrough bleeding because triphasic pills don't work effectively for skipping like monophasic pills do.

For some women they can't effectively skip their periods even with a monophasic pill either cause their body won't deal with it for whatever reason.

I've done extensive research on this and 9 times out of 10, women who try skipping while on a triphasic pill end up having spotting or breakthrough bleeding. It's very unlikely that it will work for you. It's too bad that you're not on a monophasic pill because you would've had a greater chance of success for skipping.

By the way, if you try forcing an early period by taking the placebos earlier, that could also cause an irregular cycle but most importantly it will affect the protection from pregnancy. There is a reason why there are a certain number of active pills and inactive pills in a pack related to dosing of hormones for maximum possible effectiveness for protection from pregnancy. When you start messing with the dosing by skipping any active pills, you're causing the dose to be off and therefore the risk of pregnancy goes way up. It's never advisable to go that route unless you're prepared for possible pregnancy.

I have a similar situation, but I am not worried about getting pregnant at this time. I am on my first month of Trinessa Low. I am on day 2 of the placebo pills. I am thinking of only taking 5 placebo pills the next two months in hopes that my period will come a few days early in August (so I can be blood free on my vacation). I am also playing with the idea of only taking 6 of the lowest dose of pills the first week for the next cycle. I'm hoping that will give my body enough room to bleed and somewhat reset when I get my period.

Any thoughts? I figure I don't have much to loose but some spotting since I'm not currently sexually active and my period is currently scheduled to start the first day of my vacay.
