breast discharge

i breast fed 2 years ago i am now having white discharge from only the right nipple when i  take off my bra and see dried build up on nipple it smells like rotten milk well today when i removed build up i squeezed nipple and white discharge then blood came out and for awhile now there are days breast hurts very badly what could it be?

Please have it check out, but remember with myselt the bloody discharge was sent off to lab and came back normal.  Then a knot was found , Doctor said it was fine. With in the same week it started hurting. The Dr. said it was fine.  then the knot was size of a pea and in 7 weeks it grew to a size of a lemon It hurt really bad. Then went to another Doctor sent me to cancer surgeon  It was not good.

Anytime there is a bloody discharge it must be evaluated by a surgeon specializing in breast diseases. Don't wait.

Hi there!

This is not uncommon.  You could have an blocked and/or infected milk duct, and if you've been preoccupied with squeezing to find out what comes out next (you're only human after all!) it could be irrritated from that!

I would go see your dr.  If it's an infection, you may need some antibiotics to get it in line.  This doesn't sound particularly worrisome, but should be addressed, ok?
