Hi.
Do you already have the result of you mammogram?
Bilateral breast involvement of a disease process is possible. In breast cancer, both breasts can get involved simultaneously. However, this is not so common.
It will be hard to tell whether the weight loss is related to that “areas of concern” in your breasts or not. There are so many factors that can contribute to weight loss.
It would be best to go back to your doctor and get an explanation on the result of your mammogram, whether there is a need to do further diagnostic procedures or observation will suffice.
Take care.
Thanks so much for the comment.
I had a Lap Band installed April 2007 and have went from 272 to 174 lbs.. and my breasts have greatly deflated...... The band is not malabsorbative so I do retain all the nutrients from the food I eat........ I just eat less (a lot less) I joked with my husband that now my breasts are so deflated they could really SEE inside of them.
I am not a smoker, and no longer obese, My mom has now developed postiradiation morphia of the breast and it is chronic but controlable at this time. It took a long time to diagnose so it spread quite a bit before we knew how to treat it. I was pretty adament when they did the biopsy on her to check for IBC, and thank the lord it wasn't the case.
I go in for my diagnostic mammo on Friday, 11/07/08.
