Breast Cancer

what are the do's and don'ts on what you can do or not do for a person that has no lymph nodes under the left arm due to breast cancer? i hurt my arm at work and they sent me to a physical therapist and what she has me doing does not sound or feel right..thank you for your reply.

thank you so much..the pt had said she never dealt with a case like mine. you think she would get research on it before treating me. i go in on thursday and will show her the list from the lymphedema site. thank you again :)

I don't know what your P.T. has you doing but I hope that she is aware that you are at risk for Lymphedema. She may even be specially trained in the treatment of LE as a great many therapists are these days. As far as precautions go you can get a wealth of information from the Lymphedema website. I suppose you know the usual .... no injections, no blood pressures, no repetitive motion, careful about cuts to that arm/hand, some light pressure sleeve is often recommended when flying, exercises are OK but also possibly with a sleeve. Ck out the website though for more detailed information.  Regards ....
