Breast Discharge

I recently noticed during my menstral cycle a yellow discharge from my left breast when I squeeze it from outside the nipple pressing in toward the nipple. I'm very concerned that this may be some form of breast disease as I've not had this occur before.

Further reason for anxciousness is that I am not currently on a medical aid.

Young and concerned.

As I said before, squeezing the nipple is making the discharge to continue no matter what the consistency may be( stop squeezing) I don't think that having a mammogram is inhumane( I had it done at it was okay),millions of women go through this test to make sure that nothing is wrong with their breasts. The discomfort one feels lasts for only a few seconds...I would talk to your doctor and see if he can at least order an ultrasound for you or an MRI,but I believe that a mammogram is very important as a first test, because it can show an abnormality that the U/S doesn't.Please check with your doctor about having a mammogram,it might be a little painful, but it saves lives...Take care.

If the nipple discharge when squeezed is only in the one breast and has not gone after a month, is there reason to be concerned? Just checking with egg whites I noticed that egg white is more gooey than it is sticky is there a better example. My discharge is milky and looks watery however if I pressy the discharge between my fingers hard enough it does seem a little sticky/tacky. I also noticed it is more prominant when I am about to have my period and during my period.

I am not to keen about mammograms, as I think that it is rather inhumane the way in which a woman's breast is virtually clamped between a machine. I doubt very  much that this is not harmful toward a womans breasts.

Advice would be appreciated from any medical practioner.
Thanks

Sorry for the typo...it's not the nipple sending the message to the brain but "the squeezing of the nipple".....

Many women have some type of nipple discharge when the breasts are squeezed..this is normal because the nipple is sending a message to the brain to increase prolactin levels and in turn it produces more discharge that can be almost any color.gray, green brown as well as white.A woman is more prone to these discharges if they are on birth control pills..blood pressure medication or some tranquillizers. The only time to worry about these discharge is when it comes spontaneously (without squeezing) bloody,or sticky like egg whites and from only one breast. When you stop the squeezing, the discharge will also stop.Take care.
