Results of mamogram and Ultrasound

My wife is 52 years old, hispanic. She has been feeling a small lump under her armpit for the last 5 months. She had a stereotacyic Biopsy 6 months ago for 2 small cyst. She went to a Breast surgeon, he ordered a mammogram and ultrasound. If she has enlarged lymph nodes, would this appear in any of this test ?. Here are the results of the mammogram:Ord Diag: 610.1 The site of the core biopsy is marked by an overlying BB. The area of increased density seen on th previous mammographic study  of 9/19/2001 is no longer present. The left unilateral mammogram demonstrates mild prominence of fibroglandulae tissue with no masses or calcifications. The patiente should be back on routine screening mammographyin September 2002.IMPRESSION: negative left unilateral mammogram. Category 1, negative.
The results of the ultrasound:
Ord Diag: 610.1 Diffus cystic mastopathy
History: Palpable abnormality. Possible nodule. Findings:Ultrasound of the breast in the area of greates clinical symptomalogy at aprproximately the 1, 2, 3 and 4 o'clock positions were scanned and failed to demonstrate any sonographic abnormalities. Specifically, there were no solid or cystic nodules currently see in these areas.
Category 2, bening finding.
The surgeon wants to do another biopsy, she went to the GYnecologist, he review the results, he checked her breast. and he told me that he did not see anything suspicious and does not recomend a biopsy, it's unnecesary. Both have experience in this area and are good. My wife is afraid to have the biopsy.Do u think that these results show cancer? What do you suggest

Dear desperado:  The results of these tests do not indicate cancer.  However, if there is a lump that can be felt and it cannot be attributed to anything, then a biopsy may be in order.  There is no perfect test, so sometimes the only way to be sure is to biopsy.  Another option would be to take all of the tests and information to a breast specialist for another opinion.
