Oh how I remember that!! Are you taking EMEND for the nausea/vomiting? It works wonders! As for not eating, are you having the "everything tastes like metal mouth/chemicals or are you at the everything tastes like a salt lick" stage? Strangely enough, I ate the quarter pounder w/cheese from MacDonalds which I normally don't even like. For some reason, I could taste it over the metal mouth/chemical stage so at least I had something I could eat. When I reached the salt lick stage I craved sweet things, enough so that I asked my oncologist why!! He told me because I could taste it and he reassured me that it wasn't hurting me to be in that phase.
You are almost done! You are doing great! One more treatment woman!!! You can do this!
Dear Laurie: For some people it may be a matter of better nausea control, which should be discussed with your doctor. For others, it may be a matter of trial and error. Sometimes hot foods with smells are more difficult to tolerate. You might enjoy reading about this more on www.chemocare.com. Select managing side effects and then you can read about appetite loss and taste changes. Both have good information. There is also a section on eating during chemotherapy that you may find helpful.
