benign breast tumor

My girlfriend has had a benign breast tumor and a benign tumor on her pituitary gland (adenoma).  Does having a predisposition to benign tumors indicate a predisposition to cancer as well?  Basically, is there any connection with benign tumors and predisposition to cancer?

Some benign tumors can go on to become cancer; this is particularly true of benign colon polyps. Benign breast tumors called fibroadenomas are very common and not related to cancer or cancer risk.

Dear inula, In general, there is no correlation between benign and malignant tumors.  In short, having these tumors will not increase her risk for cancer.
