Fibrous Breast Tissue Lump

Hi, I'm 21 and about four months ago found a lump in ny left breast. I went to see the doctor recently who said it is more than likely to be fibrous breast tissue. My question is what can I do about it? My doctor just laughed when I asked, but I really hate these lumps and they are getting bigger and hurt quite alot, they have trippled in size and now cover 25 % of my breast. I was wondering, can their size be reduced or can they be prevented? I am still waiting to go for a scan. Any assistance gratefully recieved

If it is fibrocystic breast changes, then there is not a lot a doctor can do. You can reduce the cyclic pain by making some diet changes (get rid of caffeine, add vit E and I think the other is B6). I think something like 40% of premenopausal women have fibrocystic breast changes. I've lived with them my entire adult life. Cyclic pain and swelling, dense, lumpy breasts that make mammograms no fun at all.
I don't know much about fibroaedema, which is another possibility, but I do know that doctors can surgically remove fibroaedema lumps if they are causing a lot of discomfort.
Both conditions are benign.
