Greenish/Beige Discharge from left swollen hard nipple

A couple of days ago I noticed that my left nipple was sore.  Because of the timing of my period, I assumed it was related to my cycle.  However, today my arm swung across my left breast and there was a definite tender sensation on my right nipple, in fact, my left nipple felt as a nipple often feels when you are cold (but I wasn't cold). Upon getting out of the shower, I was surveying the area and noticed that my left nipple was at least 3 times the size of my left - not the areola part, but the center - the nipple.  It was hardened, tender, and actually slanted (if you can picture it).  I don't know what made me squeeze it but I did and a very thick very greenish/beige substance squirted out followed by blood, then clear liquid, then beige puss mixed with some blood.  I have never experienced this before and I am definitely not pregnant (not that that should make a difference).   Now the nipple is tender and still inflated and slanted.  It is actually the right bottom part of the nipple - but again just the nipple.  Okay, should I be alarmed or so I have some sort of pimple inside my nipple?  Is this possible?  I am very alarmed and don't know what to think or make of it.

I am just short of 39 years old and a few months ago I noticed that there was a blackish green discharge comming from my left nipple. Now it sometimes does it on its own but I can also get it to come out.
I have seen a doctor and have had a mammogram, mri and ultrasound as well as a ductogram done but the radiologist could not get the needle in the duct far enough to get the die to go in to see the ducts.
I am wondering if there is such a thing as duct cancer? If so what are the chances that this discharge could be the start of that?
Breast cancer runs very high in my family. Should I be alarmed by this.

Dear DME2323, Many women have some type of nipple discharge or fluid when their breasts are squeezed, and its normal. Squeezing the nipple sends message to the brain and the pituitary gland responds by increasing prolactin levels, which in turn produces discharge from the nipple.  The discharge can come in a variety of colors - gray, green and brown as well as white.  Some women are more prone to more discharge including women on; birth control pills, certain blood pressure medications or on major tranquilizers.  These medications increase prolactin levels in the body.   There is also certain life periods when a person is more likely to get discharge than others: there may be more discharge at puberty and at menopause than the years in-between. The time to worry about nipple discharge is when it
