Thank you so much for the information! Blessings from above the insurance company has approved MRI after appeal. Hope to find out more soon.
Hi there, I just checked on the Canadian Breast Cancer website and they say that a change in the size and shape of a breast could potentially be related to cancer along with the itching problem. Six signs of breast cancer
The six signs of potential breast cancer are:
1. Lump in or around the breast
2. Dimple or indentation on the breast
3. Rash on breast
4. Breast skin puckering
5. Nipple discharge
6. Sudden shrinkage or growth of breasts
So I would fight hard to get that MRI covered. I only wish the US would cover these types of things for you, because in Canada they are covered. The only problem is we have longer wait times for testing some times it can take up to 6 months unless your doctor puts a huge rush on it and makes it urgent.
Here is a link to the Canadian breast cancer society if that may give you leverage to use for approval.

I'm sure yours is not the only case of a reduction in size of a breast. You say the itching is calmed by a steroid cream which makes me think that perhaps a Dermatologist visit might have been a consideration. I'm not surprised that Ins. might deny the Breast MRI since all other testing was negative but perhaps your current Physician can find some way around that issue. Aside from seeing a Dermatologist you might even consider an appointment with an Internal Medicine Specialist if all else fails. It is truly a mystery and I hope that someone will be able to solve it soon. Regards ...
I will also add that I have had a clean mammogram and ultra sound..
